There’s two things I kinda feel sense of loss about HTTYD2. It’s about those Viking teens becoming grownups. Especially Hiccup, he’s not a hiccup anymore. (Okay I’ve seen this post lol)
Well, I don’t think it’s bad! I think it’s good that It makes HTTYD2 instead of being some sort of boring “brave Viking teens on dragons against evil bad guys like that Alvin the Treacherous and win!” story. (Although the actual story of HTTYD2 also could be tell like this lol) Making them grown up means that they have more responsibility to take, they’re not carefree teenagers anymore. I think that’s one of the reason why this movie is so remarkable. But still, grown up means lots of loses. That’s why I feel sad.
And one more thing, about Hiccup isn’t “a hiccup” anymore.
As a “hiccup” in real life (I am only 4’9 tall and I’m older than Mario brothers now.) I actually understand how Hiccup feels in the first movie… well, most of it. (kinda glad that I’m not born as a Viking!) It’s hard to get people’s respect and value in this look, and we are unable to do many things because of the less of strength. Though I’m not as clever as Hiccup, it’s really inspiring to see how a hiccup like Hiccup finds his own value and gain self confidence. So seeing he becomes tall and buff (okay maybe that’s not true) in the second movie makes me feel a little sad.
But still, I really like this character. His dramatic flair is way beyond awesome! (I admit it, since the first movie I found myself has a crush on him.) I feel sorry for him for losing so many things, but also glad that he could grown so much. There’ll be more difficult tasks in the future waiting for him, but I believe that he and his friends will conquer em all.
About that drawing, inspired by thisLook at Stoick’s face that’s really hilarious!
How happy he is!
